If you’ve ever used the Plenty of Fish (POF) dating platform, you may have noticed that after sending a message, you have to wait until the other person responds until you are able to send another message.
This feature was introduced to prevent stalking and spamming other members of the platform. This messaging limit restricts you to one message per day which is seen as too restrictive.

In this article, I’ll be showing you guys how to get around this messaging limit without having to pay for any subscriptions and what to do if this method doesn’t work.
It does require removing a bit of code however, do not worry as I can assure you, it’s very simple to do.
How to Get Around POF Message Limit
Once you have sent a message on POF, it doesn’t allow you to send another until the other POF member responds. This is to prevent stalking.
To get around this limit, you will need to first refresh the page you’re on after you send your first message.
Once you have sent a message you will see the SEND MESSAGE section now grayed out since you aren’t able to send another until they reply. This is indicated by the text in the box saying “IT’S THEIR TURN TO REPLY.”
1. Right-click on the grayed-out button that allows you to send the message.
2. Select the INSPECT option in the menu. You should now see the page’s HTML code with the Submit buttons code now highlighted within the text.
Now look for where it says class=”disabled”. This should be above the section highlighted.
3. Now highlight or double-click the word DISABLED. Hit the backspace button on your keyboard to remove the word.
4. Now click anywhere on your screen and you should notice that the send message button shouldn’t be disabled anymore.
You can do this as many times as you like. This will enable you to send as many messages as you like.
What is POFs Current Message Limit
Pof has a messaging limit if you are not mutual matches with the person you’re trying to message.
The first contact messaging limit was previously 25 but now it has changed to 1 message per day for guys and 10 messages a day for girls since being acquired by matches.com.
This messaging imbalance may be seen as unfair to many.
This means that you are only able to message one POF account once every 24 hours who you are not mutual matches.
If you guys are mutual matches, then you can message that account as many times as you want.
If you do want to be able to message more people then you will have to match with more people which can only be done by liking.
One other way to get around the first contact message limit is to upgrade your POF subscription to POF Plus.
Upgrade Your POF Subscription
If you want no limits on how many people you can have first contact with then all you have to do is pay a monthly subscription fee in order to get into the POF Plus plan.
This will allow you to message as many people as you want before you have actually matched with them.
It will also give you the ability to like as many people as you want which allows the potential for more matches and therefore gives you a higher chance to message more people.
If you don’t have a subscription then you will be restricted with how many likes you can send a day which will restrict the amount of people you can message.
You can do this by going into your account in the POF dashboard.

POFs messaging limit can be annoying if you’re looking to connect with many people within the app, especially if you haven’t mutually matched with these people yet.
With the limit set at one message per day for men and ten messages a day for women, it can be near impossible to be yourself out there, especially for the guys.
However, there are workarounds to send more messages. By inspecting the page and removing the “disabled” attribute, you are able to send as many first-contact messages as you see fit.
